Happy Monday Everyone!
My opinion of the difference of the three is, Facebook is like a reunion site where you can connect, chat and share. Instagram allows you to post pictures or videos with small captions to let people see what you’re up to. Twitter, well I have not quite figured Twitter out yet. But I’m working on it. And it seems so far that you use Hashtags to communicate and retweeting. #MondayMotivation is always a popular hashtag for Mondays. So, “Monday Motivation” is going to motivate me to write more, and be consistent in the days that I write. YIPPEEEE!
This Meme above is my inspiration for my Monday Motivation.
Leo and I left early Saturday Morning for Victorville, California which is about 3 1/2 hours from our home. We were on our way to my cousin Brent’s 50th Birthday Party and wanted to take advantage of it being just the two of us. I booked an AirBnb and we took our time getting there.
We stopped at Dodger Stadium for Fan Fest. I had this planned for a while but I didn’t tell Leo until the night before that we left. The icing on the cake was that we’d be meeting Kike Hernandez #14 of the Los Angeles Dodgers and taking a Selfie with him! We dressed from Head to Toe in Dodger Gear and gave ourselves until about noon to trip around and take it all in. I can’t wait for next year to return!
Back on the road we went. I asked Siri for the directions to our AirBnB and as Siri often does, she took us on a crazy “faster route” through the National Forest. When I think National Forest, I think trees. There were no trees!!! Just windy roads, and rocks, and desert. But Siri must have known what she was doing. This “faster route” allowed time for me and my honey to talk, laugh, listen to music we can’t normally listen to because we ALWAYS HAVE THE KIDS, and just enjoy each others company. It had been a while since we had been able to do that, and I forgot how happy it makes me to spend time just the two of us. We almost ran out of gas since we didn’t know this “faster route” was going to take us through mountains but that’s okay! It added an extra 12 miles for us to find a gas station, which meant an extra 12 miles for us to laugh and have a good time. I may have mentioned maybe twice, maybe even three times that he should have gassed up when we stopped to pee at the gas station in Ventura, but that’s neither here nor there.
Upon arriving at our Air Bnb, we were welcomed with a beautiful Rose, and a much appreciated Welcome Card. Ingrid, the owner of the AirBnb also left us slippers to take home and filled the fridge with snacks and water. All included with our booking. The place was nice and cozy and made us feel that much better about taking the time for ourselves. We took showers, got ready and off to my cousin’s Birthday Bash we went.
We arrived and were welcomed by my cousin and his wife and a whole new group of people we had never met. It was wonderful to let loose without having to worry about chasing down little ones and making sure they didn’t break anything in this huge nice house. We were able to enjoy each other like the responsible adults we have worked so hard to become. It was a great time. I’m so glad we made the trip.
Plus! My Cousin and his wife, Gena, always spoil the heck out of me. And even at his birthday party they gave me New Mixing Bowls to match with my Pioneer Woman Collection I have for my kitchen. Ah, SO AWESOME! Thanks guys!!!
To tie this into the Meme I shared and Monday Motivation, is to motivate you to remember that there is love outside of just loving on your children all day. We work hard as Mothers and Fathers! It is SO important that we take time for ourselves and to remember our only identity is not just a Mother or Father. My husband and I needed that time together, even if it was only a day and a half. We recharged our batteries, plus pleasantly reminded ourselves why we chose each other as our other halves in the first place.
I am also hoping I can Motivate myself to remember to take more time for ourselves and even myself alone. It’s so easy to forget when you’re caught in the exhaustion and stress of caring for a household.
Your kids will be fine with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt or Uncle, or whoever it may be that you’ve trusted to take care of them! Do it for you!
